Overview: The Task Force for the Safety of Novel Foods and Feeds is held under the auspices of the Joint Meeting of the Chemicals Committee and Working Party on Chemicals, Pesticides and Biotechnology (Environment Directorate). The group works on technical issues related to the food safety of novel foods and feeds, including the products of agricultural biotechnology. Work products, such as crop composition documents, are developed by the group and finalized through a consensus process. The group involves OECD member countries, observer countries as well as recognized observer organization – including the Agriculture & Food Systems Institute.
