Interdisciplinary Workshop on Merging Crop Modeling and Genetics

    July 19, 2015-July 25, 2015
    Gainesville, FL, USA

Building reliable connections between the genotype and its corresponding phenotypic spectrum is one of the biggest challenges in plant biology today. Predicting crop phenotypes is an objective shared by crop modelers and plant geneticists/ breeders alike. Dynamic crop simulation models offer an opportunity to build these connections. This workshop was specifically aimed at professionals, post-doctoral associates and advanced graduate students involved in crop simulation modeling who are interested in genetics and breeding; and plant breeders and geneticists who are interested in using crop simulation models in their programs. Agriculture & Food Systems Institute staff participated in this event.
