Crop Composition Database Working Group Meeting

    May 18, 2016
    Washington, DC, USA

The Crop Composition Database is a comprehensive, public database providing information on the natural variability in composition of conventionally grown crops. Crop, food, and feed composition studies are considered an essential part of the safety assessment of new crop varieties. Information obtained from such studies is used to assess similarities and differences in important nutrients and anti-nutrients. The database was generated from crop composition data obtained from studies conducted over a number of years at worldwide locations. The database is managed by the Agriculture & Food Systems Institute and maintained by a Working Group. To access the Crop Composition Database, visit www.cropcomposition.org

This was the annual face-to-face meeting of the Crop Composition Working Group, which meets to discuss current data uploads, future events, and possible improvements with the software.
